Academic Symposia: Celebrating Family Values

Academic Symposia at Salinas Elementary are festive gatherings that celebrate family and community, drawing inspiration from ancient Greek traditions where diverse groups gathered to share food, drink, poetry, and engage in meaningful discourse. Each month focuses on a central theme (such as industriousness, Akokonan/loving kindness, inquiry, The 7 Tenets, etc.), explored and discussed over several weeks, culminating in a symposium.

These gatherings bring together families and staff who champion similar values, providing an opportunity to connect and discuss how each theme is nurtured both at home and within the school community. Beyond celebration, these symposia foster deep connections and affirm the unique contributions of families and staff alike.
